A gothic tale of obsession between a tormented young girl and the terrifying vampire in love with her, causing untold horror in their wake.. The exteriors of Orlok Castle were filmed at Hunedoara Castle, also known as Corvin Castle, a Romanian castle located in Transylvania and one of the largest existing medieval castles in Europe. Additionally, it is the castle where Vlad Dracula was briefly imprisoned.. Professor Albin Eberhart von Franz: Here we meet the undead plague bearer… the vampire… Nosferatu.. Featured on H-Cast: Death Threats, Nosferatu Christmas, Doctor Who Death & MORE! The H-Cast S3 EP 143 (2024). Overall, Nosferatu has a lot going for it. It has a decent story with great production value that gives you a great sense of terror and dread when you’re dealing with the vampire parts. It’s the intermission that really sinks it. Overall, the production value is this movie’s best asset. What they did in post-production at Marvels for the movie. The color grading they used for certain scenes was amazing. Peter gave it a real noir feel. The soundtrack was brilliant at building tension. There were some great scare scenes, exemplified by the post-production soundtrack and lighting. The characters were decent and well thought out. The dialogue was decent and, again, well thought out. Nothing seemed out of place. Unfortunately, the story was a bit bloated. There were several scenes that definitely could have been cut to cut the runtime down a bit. I don’t want to go into details in case there are spoilers, but if you like Robert Eggers in his other work, you’ll enjoy this movie.
